Additional information

<08>This paper was awarded the 2008 Peter Landin prize for the best paper

from the symposium. The paper shows how supercompilation can be

reformulated as an effective addition to a mature optimising compiler

for a lazy functional language. It has prompted and influenced

subsequent work on supercompilation by researchers in the UK, Ireland,

Scandinavia and Russia -- where supercompilation originated.
