Additional information

<06> Cognitive Radio (CR) opportunistically makes use of the underutilised spectrum without causing interference to the licensed users. Like other wireless networks, CR suffers from security related issues; additionally it brings its own set of security threats due to its unique nature. Accordingly the mechanisms designed for CR devices must take into account the related threats in order to provide secure communication. A novel security framework is presented in the paper which enables CR nodes to achieve secure communication. The security analysis reveals the impact of the research where the proposed protocol is found to meet all the fundamental security requirements.
