<23>The third paper in the series examines the crucial question whether algorithmic calculation of semantic similarity from full text is in agreement with semantic relatedness perceived by a human evaluator. The paper introduces and analyses a novel measure called linked-pair likelihood for interlinking documents. The results ultimately justify the methods in the CORE (COnnecting REpositories) project to draw the crucial distinction between useful related documents and unwanted near duplicates, which informs the CORE recommender and the CORE de-duplication system: http://core.kmi.open.ac.uk.
