Additional information

The paper investigates the transverse stresses in metal/composite double-lap shear joints using multi-scale modelling techniques where the composite is the inner/loaded adherend, providing a new approach for micro-mechanics modelling of bonded composite joints. As a result of this work, Hashim was invited by NetComposite to present the research on bonding pultrusion at their Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Bridges Seminar, a leading industry led technology transfer forum, in September 2012 (Contact: clair.whysall@netcomposite.com).
