This research has resulted in the development and implementation of the first combined ageing and moisture damage testing procedure for asphalt (bound) road pavement materials. It is now part of the UK Highway Agency’s Specification for Highway Works as Clause 953 and is a European testing standard, EN12697 Part 45.
