Additional information

Active feedback control of vibration using many sensors and actuators is a difficult problem due to instabilities arising from changing dynamics and disturbances. The paper has derived a computationally efficient frequency domain technique that avoids these stability problems. The research was inspired by a practical challenge from Drum International (now part of the multinational company Gardner Denver) who also provided a delivery lorry compressor enclosure vibration control test bed in which the feasibility of the methodology was successfully demonstrated.
