Additional information

<20> First work to demonstrate an eye gaze interface that enables users to walk up to a public display and have it instantly respond to their gaze. Works with a standard camera and does not require any user calibration. Proposes a simple interaction model of sideways glances, rigorously evaluated for selection, scrolling and slider control tasks. Published in CHI, the HCI field's top venue, and widely covered in the media (New Scientist, BBC news site). Led to new collaboration with Müller at T-Labs Berlin, a leader in public display research, as well as interest by commercial groups.
