Additional information

<06> The intellectual contribution of this work is threefold: it is the first use of (reflective) component technology in the sensor network field; it the first to describe a complete, runtime configurable component-based operating system (Lorien) for sensor networks; and it is the first to consider the consistent and energy efficient deployment and subsequent evolution of sensor node software (operating system and application) in large-scale networks, where different nodes can have component configurations. Published in a top quality journal (IF: 1.8). Lorien is also available as open source software through sourceforge and used by several international research groups (total downloads: 304).
