<04> An extended version of an ICDCS’10 paper (acceptance rate 14.4%) and now published in a leading journal, this paper describes a novel one-to-many content distribution approach. The key intellectual contribution is the use of (standard) router caches and the removal of group management overhead from the core network management. This second aspect is important as this is a key barrier to the success of IP multicast. Joint research with U. Oslo which received the Norwegian 2010 research prize in their “idea competition” (selected from 47 submissions across science) and which is being patented in Europe and the US.
