<20> This paper presents a first systematic characterisation of real-world mappings for foot gestures to interact with virtual workspaces. It shows that users are faster, more accurate and prefer rate-based over displacement-based techniques. The findings serve as foundation for development of foot-based gestures, of relevance as alternative interaction mechanism when the user's hands are pre-occupied. Published in CHI, the premier venue for HCI research, as one of 370 papers selected from 1577 submissions (23% acceptance rate).
