<06> This work introduces a novel protocol mechanism for duty-cycled communication systems where data aggregation is carried out by the medium access control protocol. This presents an entirely novel approach to data aggregation in sensor networks and yields significant performance improvements. Published in IPSN, a top-tier sensor network conference, as one of 30 papers accepted from 126 submissions (23.8%).
