<21> Received the single Best Paper Award at Mobile HCI 2009. Introduces ‘Photomap’, highly original work that enables users to spontaneously capture and appropriate real-world 'you are here' maps for mobile navigation. This is significant, as such maps are customised to their environments (e.g., campus, woodland trails) and offer context for guidance that is not available on generic mobile maps. The papers's influence is evident in its citation rate, and reference in Google’s “Systems and methods for collecting and providing map images” patent (Id: US 8164599).
