Additional information

To perform dynamic analysis including the nonlinear interactions at joints, high-fidelity models used in industrial applications have to be reduced. Previous reduction methods could not provide sufficient accuracy. Proposed is a generic, highly-accurate and computationally efficient method which simplifies model reduction, increases accuracy to the acceptable levels and allows analysis of any jointed structure.

The method has been implemented by the author in the Rolls-Royce plc. in-house code, which has allowed the dynamic analysis of practical gas-turbine structures with joints. Contact: Dr Jeffrey Green, Tel: 01332244975, E-mail: Jeffrey.Green@Rolls-Royce.com
