This work is the outcome of an international collaboration between Dr. Cleall and colleagues at the MOE Key Laboratory of Soft Soils and Geoenvironmental Engineering, Zhejiang University. It allows efficient location of non-circular critical slip surfaces and as such is particularly applicable to slopes with significant heterogeneity. It has led to further research at Cardiff University and is the subject of PhD studies supervised by Dr.Cleall.
