Additional information

This paper emerged from a panel organised by the co-authors for the annual conference of the Oxford University Press journal, ‘Adaptations’ and was peer-reviewed prior to publication. It developed out of the author’s earlier publication on the relationships between film, television, stardom and fashion. The book chapter has led to a paper on ‘Shakespeare onscreen’ presented at a symposium in Palermo (2012) and an invitation to write a monograph on the same topic. As a result of her interdisciplinary work, the author was asked to act as Chair of the European Popular Culture Association, funded by the Popular Culture Association of America.
