Cola soft drinks for evaluating the bioaccessibility of uranium in contaminated mine soils

The novelty lays in extracting the important aspects of existing, expensive, slow and complex soil tests, and identifying those sufficient and necessary elements in a ubiquitous cheap readily available substance. The work provided the foundation for an article in (a) “Improbable Research”, which awards the Ig® Nobel Prizes, and (b) the “Conservation” magazine, which is a consistent journalism award-winner and attracts world-class thinkers, writers, and illustrators from The Economist and The New York Times.
