<22> Originality: This paper makes novel contributions in the use of a logic-based approach to analysing supply chain operation dynamics.

Significance: The paper has raised interest in the supply chain management community and led to Chen-Burger being invited to give a keynote presentation at the LOGICAL project kick-off meeting "Intelligent and High-Performance Computing in Logistics" in Wroclaw, Poland, 5-6 March, 2012.

Rigour: Statistical hypothesis testing was used to evaluate the research claim of improvements brought by explanation support. A one-tailed two sample independent t-test was performed in order to determine whether to accept or reject the null hypothesis.
