Additional information

This highly cited paper (88 citations, Oct 13) was the first to demonstrate a correlation between Perfusion CT and angiogenesis as determined by histopathology. Angiogenesis is a key biological signature in cancer and this study led to Perfusion CT being established as an important biomarker for cancer imaging (>65 cancer related papers in 2012). Perfusion CT is now used to assess vascular response to locoregional therapies and in Phase I/II trials of novel drugs. This paper is published in the leading journal in imaging.
