Additional information

This paper presents the implementation, validation and clinical testing of algorithms to compensate 3D overlay roadmaps onto X-ray fluoroscopy for the guidance of cardiac interventions. The algorithms were implemented into a robust clinical prototype and tested on 18 clinical cases. Subsequently, the algorithms were implemented into the commercial clinical systems of several manufacturers of 3D overlay guidance platforms, including those of Philips Healthcare and Siemens. The software provides clinicians with increased accuracy of guidance during complex cardiac interventions.
