Additional information

* The first paper ever to apply principles of model predictive control (MPC) not only in conjunction with a multi-motor (two-motor) three-phase drive but also when the supply is from a five-leg (reduced-switch-count) inverter.

* Significant since it shows that MPC principles can be extended successfully to multi-motor drive systems, in a special supply configuration suitable for winder/unwinder drive systems.

* The knowledge gained from this work has led to negotiations with Cygnet-Tex-Web (part of Cygnet group; Dr Luke Vardy, Group Technical Director), concerning the development of a joint KTP application related to unwinding drive system products.
