Analysing user physiological responses for affective video summarisation
<17> This work was the first of its kind to empirically evaluate the feasibility of using physiological responses to popular multimedia content as a novel user-centred information source for personalised video summarisation. Previous to this study, user physiological responses to video content had not been identified as a potential information source for multimedia content summarisation. Many researchers have been influenced by this study which has provided a rationale for pursuing on-going related research studies (e.g. Oliveira et al 2013) and have also recognised the signal processing techniques developed specifically for use in this study (e.g. deWale et al 2009).
