Double-weighted statement

This book draws from a large number of Aristotle’s texts, as well as the extensive secondary literature. Its many topics include: the range of states Aristotle counts as desires; objects of desire; the relation between desires and envisaging prospects; rational and non-rational desires; desire’s role in moral psychology; relating Aristotle’s account to current views. It was the product of many years research, including being the sole project during a full year’s research leave. The quantity of work exceeds, four of five times over, that required to create two normal, single-weighted outputs, and has displaced opportunities to produce other comparable outputs.
