This paper is one of the results of the project "In Situ Determination of Soil Modulus and Damping as a Function of Level of Strain" funded by the US National Science Foundation (NSF) with Dr Biscontin as Principal Investigator. PhD student Ahn was appointed as Assistant Professor at Pusan National University (South Korea).

This work led to another project "Capacity and Performance of Foundations for Offshore Wind Towers" (PI Biscontin) sponsored by the US National Science Foundation .
