Additional information

The theory presented in this paper is the key technology in an international open-source project on the automated generation of high-performance computer code. Implementations of the theory are available in open-source libraries that are developed with the FEniCS Project (http://www.fenicsproject.org). The outcomes of this work are used around the world, which is evident in public user discussions at https://launchpad.net/ffc and https://launchpad.net/dolfin. It forms a key element of 3rd-party EPSRC funded projects at Imperial College and University of Oxford (EP/I00677X/1), and provides the basis for EPSRC (EP/I030484/1, GBP208k), NERC (NE/I023929/1, NE/I026995/1,GBP647k) and industry supported (Mitsubishi, GBP200k) grants held by the author.
