Additional information

Orange Circles pays homage to a road tragedy depicting the graphic signage made by police markings locating the remains of a victim demarkated through circles. The short video documentary offers new insights into the depiction of drawing processes and recording through narrative video whilst rigour is emphasised through the unique recording method and new visual approaches, extended through improvisation. The work demonstrated SOR through further selection for The Jerwood Drawing Prize 2010 exhibition, the UK’s leading award in drawing. The exhibition attracted over 3000 submissions from artists across the UK and internationally, resulting in an exhibition of approx 70 selected artists, opened at Jerwood Space, London and touring Nationally.Drawing is expanded through the temporality of video, providing a rhythmic and emotional encounter with the marks.
