Additional information

First example of 3D data acquisition from pigment lesions in vivo. First to demonstrate link between 3D skin texture and malignant melanoma. A proof of concept computer assisted diagnosis system for malignant melanoma followed. Device, now in the form of a third generation, is in weekly clinical use (Robert Warr, Pigmented Lesion Clinic). This work generated a successful PhD (Yi Ding). NBT Product Innovation Seed Fund grant and GP Research Network followed, aimed at exploring application in mole watching. The technology has received significant media interest.
