Additional information

<02> This work is the first to develop a novel sensing and data fusion system to track 3D arm motion in a home based rehabilitation program. The data from inertial and visual sensors are fused together in a probabilistic manner so that multimodal distributions of system states can be propagated based on an “importance sampling” technique and weighted particles. This work was part of the smart rehabilitation project funded by EPSRC (GR/S29089/01). A preliminary version of this work won the Best Paper Prize in Transactions of the Institute of Measurement & Control, Vol. 30, No. 3-4, 259-273.
