<22> Auction mechanisms are widely used in electronic commerce, but different market settings demand tailor-made mechanisms. This paper showed how complex and robust mechanisms can be automatically designed for specific domains that can perform equally as well or outperform those designed by human designers. It is part of a body of work on developing adaptive strategies and appropriate and efficient mechanisms for strategic interaction settings. The paper has contributed to an invitation for a keynote talk at the 16th EPIA Conference.
