Additional information

<06> Traditional network coding systems have on-off performance, i.e., either the data is fully decoded or decoding is not possible at all. This paper initiated a new research area that deals with the challenging problem of approximate decoding of incomplete network coded data when data is correlated. This work has led to "CORE: Collection and reconstruction of correlated data in adhoc sensor networks" project (FNS 200021_138083) at EPFL funded by SNSF (www.snf.ch) and the project “On Duality between Approximate Decoding for Network Coding and Compressive Sensing” funded by the Korean-Swiss Science and Technology Cooperation.
