Additional information

A VIP article, the paper reported a new strategy for the rational design of libraries of self-assembling dendrons with unprecedented primary structure. Termed “deconstruction of self-assembling dendrons”, molecular targets are designed by systematically removing branches from a parent dendron. This approach provides a diversity of molecular topologies not previously encountered. Synthesis of a library of such dendrons was reported, leading to a series of novel self-assembled structures. This work has led to an eight-institution international collaboration project supported under NSF-EPSRC Pire scheme (UK part EP/K034308).
