Additional information

<24> This introduces a new biologically realistic anatomical model of connectivity between neurons of the Tadpole spinal cord. Our novel approach to connectivity modelling is based on developmental processes: growing axons create synaptic contacts with other neurons. This collaborative research with neurobiologists from Bristol University (joint BBSRC grant) is extremely important for progress in computational neuroscience and opens a new field of research on structure of neural circuits. The paper has already attracted significance attention: it was ranked 8 (must read) by Faculty1000 among top 2% the best publication in biology and was selected “among the highest-performing articles in Frontiers”
