Additional information

This paper examined an important type of problem of kinematic structuring of nonlinear constitutive models for large deformations. It analysed systematically two generic kinematic approaches based on the additive decomposition of the rate of deformation tensor and the multiplicative split of the deformation gradient. The generic value of this paper is to facilitate users in choosing the most robust and accurate kinematic approach to build their nonlinear constitutive models, particularly for nonlinear viscoelastic flows of amorphous polymers. This research led to the winning of a research grant from the National Science Centre Poland (£90k) in 2011.
