This paper presents a new approach for the determination of cutting-force coefficients. The main advantage of the new method is that it provides the simulation process with instantaneous cutting-force coefficients, which are independent of the cutting operation geometry. This development has spurred further work such as Liang et al, J Sichuan Univ (2011) and Wang et al, Int J Adv Manu Tech (2013).
