Additional information

<20>Addressing open calls for the unified treatment of usability and usefulness during digital library design (e.g. Tsakonas & Papatheodorou (2008)); provides one of the first unified evaluation models, pilot tested within the NHS. Highlighted interplay between usability and usefulness has informed further studies (e.g. Jeong (2011), Kalra & Verma (2011), Konradt et al (2012), Matusiak (2012)), and brought further attention to the issue amongst professional bodies (e.g. Association for Information Management highlighted research report in: ASLIB Managing Information 2011, 18(7)) with the model having the capacity to guide and influence future practice. Awarded 2010 Emerald Literati Network Outstanding Paper Award.
