An evaluation of prototype VR medical training environment: applied surgical anatomy training for malignant breast disease
<29> Prototype VR system for anatomy and pathology teaching of complex anatomical data. The project was originally instigated by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and continued by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. The paper attracted the interest at a national and international level and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) recently awarded funding for the development of VR MSK system for the GPs. The particular VR web-application is currently used by many users from several (www.3dmedicaleducation.co.uk). Prof Charissis developed the HCI and 3D of the system, performed the experiments and wrote 70% of the paper.
