Almaini initiated and supervised this project, and co-wrote the paper with Hartley. Hartley was Almaini’s PhD student and then postdoctoral research assistant . Almaini is also overall leader and Principal Investigator of the Ultra Deep Survey project, which forms a key element of the UKIDSS infrared survey programme.
