<15> Originality: The first paper to bring together the research outcomes of data management techniques for flash-memory-based solid-state drives.
Significance: This was presented as a tutorial during SIGMOD 2011, one of the two premier database systems conferences. It was so well-received that it was invited to be repeated in VLDB 2011 (the second premier database systems conference). It led to a book deal with Springer with expected publication in 2014.
Rigour: The paper contains an almost exhaustive list of 45 references to prior work over the last few years.
