Significance of output:

Designing buildings for compliance and designing for future climate are not the same. In particular, buildings modelled using historical climate data risk underestimating future cooling loads leading to overheating and failure. This paper demonstrates a methodology and tool (CCWeatherGen) to morph existing weather files to include climate change projections. Industry practice guide CIBSE TM48 (Climate Change Scenarios for Building Simulation) details CCWeatherGen. It is also formally listed on UK Climate Impact Program website (http://dev.ukcip.org.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=485&Itemid=481), CIBSE online (DesignCompass) and EU bulletin report as a tool. Users include consultants (HoareLea, BuroHappold) and building simulation software providers (IES and Design Builder).
