Significance of output:

The first systematic studies of the nature of the protons in titanate nanotubes by H1-MAS-NMR in combination with XRD, TGA, TEM and Raman spectroscopy. The various types of protons were identified and their removal rate under elevated temperatures was studied. The results allow an explanation of the controversy in determination of the exact crystal structure of titanate nanotubes associated with earlier unknown irreversible removal of ion-exchangeable OH groups under low temperatures.
