Additional information

This paper resulted from a research grant funded by DEFRA/EA under Estuaries Research Programme-Phase II. The paper describes the development and application of a novel inverse model to predict long term morphodynamic evolution of estuarine systems. The outcome of this research led to a further research grant from NERC (NE/J005428/1), to develop a similar methodology to coastal systems. The work of this paper also led to an invited talk at the conference 'Sustainability/Survivability Science for Resilient Society Adaptable to Extreme Weather Conditions' Kyoto, Japan.
