Published in the International Journal of Photoenergy in 2012 (Impact factor 2.663, 5 citations). This work represents the first analysis of dye-sensitized solar cell stability under load and illustrates the rapid degradation possible under certain conditions. This work informed the PV strategy for Tata Steel Euripe and prompted a shift from unstable liquid devices to hybrid organic/inorganic solid state devices currently under investigation. This work received an award at the hybrid and organic PV conference in Spain (2011). As a direct result of this work a collaboration with Imperial College London was started on alternative electrolytes.
