Additional information

This paper, resulting from collaboration between Aberystwyth University and Aston in the SUPERGEN Bioenergy project (SUPERGEN Bioenergy II £6.45 Million 4.5 years - 2007-2012), showed for the first time the effect of harvesting time on primary conversion by fast pyrolysis to achieve higher performance in terms of improved liquid yield and higher liquid quality. This impacts on biomass production and supply chains including consideration of blends to minimise ash, and aids optimisation of bioenergy and biofuel value chains which is being investigated in the recently awarded SUPERGEN Bioenergy Hub (EP/J017302/1, £3.55M, Aston award £424k, 2012 – 2017)
