Additional information

This theoretical work has been a paradigmatic reference in the study of the effects of finite memory (hysteresis) in non-equilibrium stochastic processes and has remained the highest cited article since 2009 (source: WIPIMD journal-http://wipimd.com/?&sttflpg=7eed240bfa622336ed54ae3a456cfbc36afab8572b5720cc). The original research was sponsored through a Marie Curie IIF (author was the first Indian recipient in physics. The article has since inspired 7 publications (3 from Aston). The algorithm developed has major healthcare potential in two key medical fields - immunological synapse and atherosclerosis. These are presently being studied with 2 research students, in collaboration with a leading healthcare clinician (atherosclerosis).
