Additional information

This study investigating the feasibility of heterogeneity analysis as a novel responsive and predictive biomarker was the first to demonstrate that CT texture changes may be associated with clinical outcome (progression free survival) in metastatic renal cancer. Assessment of image texture in addition to size and enhancement may improve patient response categorisation in the clinic. Its generalisibility is being studied in a large multicentre NIHR funded clinical trial (STAR), to provide additional supportive evidence for clinical translation. This paper is published in the leading journal in imaging.
