Additional information

This report is part of a market review investigation into the new build housing market instigated by the Office for Fair Trading (OFT). Using data provided by UK industrial partners, the report provides an understanding of the ‘snagging’ problem within the new homes market. Since publication the work undertaken has had an influencing effect within the industry due to the exposure received from the OFT. The findings have influenced both the industry (new home builders, contractors) and the legislating bodies such as the Council of Mortgage Lenders, local authority building control and the National House Building Council (NHBC).
