Designing Participant-Generated Context into Guided Tours
The research, originally presented at mLearn 2008, received one of two prizes for innovative contributions to the field and was one of five (of 100) papers blind-reviewed and selected for this special issue of the International Journal. The article theorises context, space and place and their relationship to learning and empowerment. It positions the guided tour as a mediating process in learning and by drawing on theories from urban studies and architecture, reconceptualises the meaning of context in mobile learning research. The article was an invited chapter in: Parsons, (2011) Combining E-Learning and M-Learning: New Applications of Blended Educational Resources.
