Additional information

This study was an early demonstration of the benefit of electron transfer dissociation (ETD) technique to complex peptide mixture analysis, identifying additional proteins unobserved in our previous study (Nature 2006). An international industrial collaboration to enable access to prototype instrumentation supported this work (Andreas Huhmer, Thermo San Jose, +1-418-965-6294). BBSRC funding supported this study (EGH17742), with Fellowship funding for Hart (EPSRC EP/E043143) following. Hart is the lead author on this publication. Conference presentation at the American Society for Mass Spectrometry (May 2006, Seattle, WA) and an invited keynote at the European Chemical Society (September 2008, Torino, Italy) featured this work.
