Additional information

This paper describes the first application of hydrothermal synthesis to the control of polymorphism in a mixed metal oxide material. This was a significant breakthrough in the preparation of metal oxide materials and has since led to extensive work by Darton’s research group on related materials for applications in solid oxide fuel cells that are the subject of a recent patent application (GB1310953.3). The work attracted funding from STFC for access to both Daresbury SRS and ISIS.
