Double-weighted statement

This book combines broad scope and a fresh perspective on Chinese urbanism and urban design practice up to date. It presents an original methodology and conceptual framework for design practitioners and design policy-makers to promote responsive design in terms of socio-cultural sustainability in the Chinese context. As the primary author I wrote all chapters other than the Introduction and half of Chapter 6. These make 85-90% of the book. The majority of figures, apart from the ones in Chapter 7, are my production. The preparation of the book involved some five years of work.
