A seven-volume scholarly edition of the works of Ben Jonson, for which Giddens was associate editor.
Giddens is associate editor of this 7-volume scholarly edition of the works of Ben Jonson, and served on the Editorial Board for the Electronic Edition, parts of which are available at http://universitypublishingonline.org/cambridge/benjonson. He also made a number of other significant contributions to the works, including his edition, with Anne Barton, of 'The Sad Shepherd, or A Tale of Robin Hood' (Vol. 7, pp.417-480), and his textual essay for that play, available in the online edition.
Work as associate editor for the edition represents four years of full-time research and ten additional years of part-time contributions. In addition to the co-edited play, The Sad Shepherd, Giddens has contributed major parts of the edition, conducted stop-press collation for many of the works, and helped to check the editions of several contributors.
